Rhodes Completes Weekend Sweep of Sewanee

The Rhodes College Lynx completed the sweep this afternoon over SCAC rival Sewanee, taking game three by a score of 12-2. The Lynx bats remained hot for the final game of the series as Rhodes amassed 14 hits over 7 innings. Senior CF Travis Perkins was big again, going 2-4 with 2RBI's, 2 runs, a stolen base, and a towering home run to right field in his last game at Stauffer Field. Junior SS Lynden Pindling finished a great regular season with a 4-5 day (2R, 2RBI's, 2 2B). Sophomore 3B Strother White and junior DH Channing Arndt each contributed two hits and 2 RBIs a piece to the offensive outpouring.
Junior RHP Matt Burnick picked up his 5th victory of the year (5-2), working 5 strong innings, allowing only 1 earned run on 3 hits. Junior RHP James Todd worked a scoreless 6th and senior RHP Brian Lainoff struck out the side in the 7th to wrap up a fantastic senior day. The Lynx will begin SCAC Tournament play at 3:30 Thursday against Hendrix College at USA Stadium in Millington, TN.
