Thomas More Falls, 2-1, to Westminster In Opening Round Game of the PAC Tournament

(WASHINGTON, Pa.) - The second-seeded Thomas More College baseball team fell, 2-1, to third-seeded Westminster College today (Thursday, May 10, 2012) in an opening round game of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) at Ross Memorial Park in Washington, Pennsylvania.

With the loss, the Saints fall to 25-15 and will play top-seeded Washington & Jefferson College in an elimination game tomorrow at 3 p.m.  With the win, the Titans improve to 26-15 and will play fourth-seeded Saint Vincent College in the winner's bracket finals at 12 p.m. tomorrow.

Westminster took a 1-0 lead in the first and the Saints tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the sixth when senior first baseman Andrew Thole (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) scored on an error.  Westminster then scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a suicide squeeze bunt.

Senior Aaron Carmack (Miamisburg, Ohio/Miamisburg) suffered the loss as he pitched all nine innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and struck out four.

Sophomore Tyler Graber (Plain City, Ohio/Jonathan Alder) led the Saints at the plate as he was two-for-two.
