GREENSBORO, N.C. – D.J. Phillips and Corey Wallace tallied three RBI apiece in Guilford College's 11-5 nonconference home win against Immaculata University Wednesday. The Quakers improved to 5-5 with the win.

Phillips returned to the lineup after a three-game absence due to injury. He hit his first homer of the year, a three-run shot, in the fourth inning put Guilford up 5-0. The Mighty Macs countered with two runs in the fifth inning, but the Quakers took an 11-3 into the ninth inning. Immaculata scored two more in its final at-bat, but was unable to recover from the eight-run deficit.

Wallace finished with a career- and game high three hits for Guilford, including a triple. Phillips had two hits, as did Casey Mann and Gabe Mirabelli. Mann had two of Guilford's five stolen bases and also tripled. Lou Trosch (1-0) earned his first win with five solid innings on the mound.

Matt Hardy and Elijah Vottero both had two hits and an RBI for the Mighty Macs, of southeastern Pennsylvania. Matt Lawson and Robert Wallace also had two hits. Kirk Wenzler (0-1) took the loss in relief.

The Quakers begin Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at noon on Saturday, Mar. 2 in a twinbill against Virginia Wesleyan College at McBane Field.
