Bonadona the hero once again as Wildcats take series from North Central

More news about: Louisiana College

After recording his first career base hit, a game-winning two RBI single two weeks ago against Schreiner, Louisiana College utility infielder Daniel Bonadona was once again called upon on Saturday against North Central College in a clutch, late-inning situation.

Once again, the junior from Tara High School in Baton Rouge came through, delivering a walk-off single that scored senior outfielder Adam Broussard to give the Wildcats a 2-1 win over the Cardinals.

The Wildcats held a 1-0 lead until the top of the seventh inning until Cardinal catcher Zac Pacanowski ripped an RBI single up the middle to tie the game 1-1.

After the LC and NCC both went scoreless in the bottom and the seventh and top of the eighth, respectively, the stage was set for Bonadona's heroics in the bottom of the eighth.

It was Bonadona's second career hit, both of which have been game-winners for Mike Byrnes' club.

Seth Webster picked up the win to move to 4-2 on the season, throwing a complete game while allowing six hits, one walk, and striking out five.

The Wildcats would struggle to scratch runs across in game two, as an Adam Broussard sacrifice fly in the second inning to score Cary Myers was the lone run scored in a 4-1 loss to the Cardinals.

Josh Lang (2-3) started for the Wildcats, going all seven innings and allowing just one earned run on 10 hits.

The Wildcats now sit at 11-9 on the season, and will face ASC East rival LeTourneau on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in a non-conference situation.
