Baruch Defeats Manhattanville (8-6)

The Baruch College Bearcats defeated the Valiants of Manhattanville College, 8-6, in a non-conference game played on Thursday afternoon at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn, New York.

The Bearcats (2-6) led from start to finish and held off a late rally by the Valiants (3-8) from the
Freedom Conferenceto earn the victory.

Angel Tejedaled the eight run, 12-hit attack by batting 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run scored.

John Yuksekol(2-for-5), Nicholas Pomo-Roman(2-for-2, 3 runs, 4SB) and Keith Ezersky(2-for-2, 3 runs, 3SB) each had two singles.

The Bearcats were busy on the base paths with eight stolen bases, but left 11 runners on base compared to six by the Valiants.


Christopher Maisonetgets the victory by pitching 6.1 innings with eight hits allowed and three earned runs. Connor Hensonfinished off the victory with 2.2 innings, one earned run and two strikeouts to get the Bearcats back on the winning track.

Jordanis Nunez was the top batter at the plate for the Valiants going 3-for-5 with an RBI and one run scored.

Baruch will begin the CUNYAC portion of their schedule on Saturday, March 23, with a 12:00 pm road doubleheader at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Please note this doubleheader was initially scheduled to be played at Narrows Field in Brooklyn, but due to the recent rain/snow storm, John Jay has relocated the game to the baseball field at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.
