UW-Oshkosh won both games in its final at-bat during a baseball sweep over Plymouth State University (N.H.) on Saturday (March 23) in Fort Myers, Fla.

Robbie Kleman provided a two-out single that gave the Titans a 5-4 victory in the opener. UW-Oshkosh (11-1) then overcame a three-run deficit with a six-run inning to take the second contest, 8-5.

In the first game, Kleman scored on a Doug Beattie single to give the Titans a third-inning lead. The Panthers (7-6) then used an error and Ryan McIntosh's sacrifice fly to go ahead, 2-1, in the bottom half.

The back-and-fourth scoring continued in the fifth, as UW-Oshkosh marked two runs and PSU responded with one to tie things up 3-3.

Trailing 4-3 in the seventh, Tyler Kamps led off with a double. Bobby Kachel lifted a sacrifice fly to score him. Kleman then delivered his run-scoring single for the winning tally.

After Travis Sindles pitched the first four innings (four walks), Matt Wells tossed the last three innings to earn the victory. Both men allowed one earned run.

Cody Gilchrist started for PSU, surrendering three ER on eight hits over five innings. Zach Cogswell (loss) then allowed two runs on four hits to end the game.

The Panthers took advantage of two walks, an error and hit-by-pitch to mark a 4-0 lead in the nightcap. McIntosh capped the second inning with a two-run single.

Kleman came up big again for the Titans, hitting a two-run single to cut the deficit in half.

UW-Oshkosh was down 5-2 in the sixth, and a 1,500-mile trip awaited them. The Titans ensured that the ride home was a happy one with six runs on four hits, along with two Panther errors. Kleman bounced a two-run single off the second-base bag to tie the score. Neil Hebert and Brock Guetzke tacked on RBI singles to seal the outcome.

Wells stranded the tying run in the seventh to earn the save. Chad Wyss got five outs for the relief win. The losing pitcher was Tucker Regan, who allowed seven runs (three earned) over 5.2 frames.

Kleman totaled four hits in the doubleheader. Beattie and Michael Swift each posted three in game one.

UW-Oshkosh will conduct its home schedule whenever the weather permits.
