Pipers Stretch Win Streak To 8

More news about: Hamline

The Hamline baseball team continues to be as hot as the Arizona weather. The Pipers snapped a 2-all tie with five fourth inning runs and held on for a 7-6 win over Buena Vista in Tucson. Hamline has now won eight games in a row and stands 11-3 overall.

Jordan Rubbelke and Mark Radmacher had two hits, scored twice and knocked in a run apiece as part of an eight-hit attack. But had key hits (Rubbelke a triple and Radmacher his sixth double of the season) in the big fourth inning that, in essence, decided the game. He is now hitting a season high .415.

Zach Brautigam went the first 5.2 innings to earn his first victory of the season. Rannon Arch, the fourth Piper pitcher used in the game, got the final out for his second save.

The Piper wrap up their Arizona sojourn with a doubleheader against Oberlin Tuesday in Tucson.
