SALISBURY, Md. – Junior first baseman Quinn Griffith collected a career-high four hits and four RBIs, and senior right-hander Andrew Levy threw six innings, allowing seven hits, one walk and one run as the No. 4 Salisbury University baseball team defeated Frostburg State University, 22-1, at the SU Baseball Field on Friday.

Griffith, who leads the team with a .446 batting average, went 4-for-6 with a double and three runs scored to lead Salisbury's 19-hit attack in which 12 Sea Gulls tallied base hits. Levy, who also struck out five, improved to 5-0 with the win, moving into a tie for 10th all-time at SU with 18 career victories.

Juniors Ken O'Neill and Johnny Schiotis each knocked in three runs on the day for Salisbury (16-4, 5-2 CAC). Schiotis was 1-for-3 with three runs scored with a walk and was one of six Sea Gulls to be hit by three different Frostburg State (13-9, 2-5) pitchers. O'Neill was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

The Gulls scored two runs in the third inning, six in the fourth, nine in the sixth and five in the seventh. SU, which used 24 players, acted as the visitor because of unplayable field conditions in Frostburg, Md.

Griffith gave Salisbury a 2-0 lead in the third, ripping a single up the middle with two outs to score Bill Root and Schiotis. SU sent 15 players to the plate in the fourth, plating six for an 8-0 advantage.

O'Neill singled to left field with the bases loaded and one out to score Austin Barefoot and Schiotis. After a groundout, a wild pitch scored Root from third base with the second of five unearned runs in the inning and FSU starter Doug Politz (2-1) was lifted for A.J. Rosenthal.

Leading 10-0, with two outs in the sixth, Nick Gentry scored Root and Schiotis before Griffith's double down the left-field line scored two more. Evan Graci added a double of his own that scored Griffith for a 15-0 lead.

The Bobcats got on the scoreboard in the bottom of sixth when J.K. Filauro walked and scored on a groundout by Rob Jennings to make it 17-1.

Garrett Price had two of FSU's 11 hits, while Politz took the loss in 3 2/3 innings, allowing eight runs (three earned), six hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
