Dylan Dean Smith (JR, Edwards County HS, IL) threw the first nine-inning no-hitter in Webster history as the Gorlok baseball team remained unbeaten in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 6-0 win over MacMurray College.

Smith only faced 28 MacMurray batters, one over the minimum, as he struck out nine and walked none.  Two Highlanders reached base on errors, one was eliminated by a double play in the first inning.  A second Highlander reached base on an error with two out in the second inning.  Smith, who missed the 2012 season due to an arm injury, set down the final 22 MacMurray batters after the error.  He lowered his season ERA to 3.12 with the shutout, and is 3-0 on the year.

Webster scored two runs in the first when Brett Buchanan (JR, Willowbrook HS, IL) doubled in two runs with two out.  Buchanan would score the Gorloks' third run of the game in the fourth, after walking, stealing second, and scoring on a Ryan Hall (JR, Central Arkansas, MO) single.

The Gorloks added two more in the sixth and  one more in the eighth for the 6-0 final score.  With the victory, played at Carlinville, IL, on April 13, the #15-ranked Gorloks improved to 12-0 in the SLIAC and 20-6 overall.
