Baruch Drops Doubleheader to Staten Island

The Baruch College Bearcats lost a conference doubleheader to the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island on Saturday afternoon at the Kingsborough Community College Baseball Field.

The Bearcats suffered losses of 9-3 and 20-9 to drop to 14-13 overall and 8-3 in the CUNYAC, which currently stands for third place. The visiting Dolphins improve to 24-9 overall and 10-2 in the CUNYAC.

In the first game loss, the Bearcats scored three runs on 11 hits.
Angel Tejedasmacked a two run double in the fourth and Jasdeep Buttarhad an RBI single in the fifth to account for the scoring.

The Dolphins scored eight runs in the fourth inning and the Bearcats never recovered in the 9-3 loss.

In the second game, the Dolphins jumped out to an 11-1 lead en route to the victory to finish with 24 total hits.
 

Matthew Balloneand Eric Ulinohad three hits each. Tejada smacked a three run homer in the seventh inning.

The baseball team will return to action on Tuesday, April 23, with a CUNYAC home contest against the Stevens Institute of Technology. First pitch at Bronx Community College is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
