PORTLAND, Ore. – Four Pacific pitchers, led by a stellar six-inning performance by Jimmy Brakebush (Fr., Portland, Ore.), combined to one-hit Concordia (Ore.) Tuesday night as the Boxers beat the Cavaliers 3-1 in baseball action at Porter Park.

Brakebush earned his first collegiate win in the performance, allowing just one run on one hit, walking three and striking out.  Levi Peterson (So., Denver, Colo.), Topher Mood (Jr., St. Helens, Ore.) and Craig Nesselhuf (Fr., Littleton, Colo.) continued to shut the door, not allowing a hit over the final three innings.  Nesselhuf earned his second save of the year, striking out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth.

Pacific (14-21) scored all the runs they would need in the fourth inning against reliever Christian Bannister.  Donnie Bradley (So., Beaverton, Ore.) led off with a double and advanced to third on Dan Jaffe's (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) bunt single.  Jaffe himself advanced to second on Nick Garrett's (Fr., San Diego, Calif.) sacrifice and both scored on a double down the left field line by Nathan Suyematsu (Fr., Tualatin, Ore.), who later scored when he stole third and came home on an error.

The Cavaliers (21-24) scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth without the aid of a hit.  Cole Shidaki drew a leadoff walk, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch.  He scored on Jared Young's ground out.  Concordia broke up Brakebush's no hit bid in the fifth when Ben Talbot doubled to open the inning.

Concordia found themselves in a prime position to tie or take the lead in the seventh, when Peterson proceeded to walk two batters after getting the first two Cavaliers' batters to strike out looking.  Concordia would manage to load the bases before Mood coaxed Blake Drake into a fly out to end the threat.

Bannister took the loss for Concordia, dropping to 1-4 on the year.  He allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits with three strikeouts in his two innings of relief.  Jaffe and Charlie Gaff (Fr., Stockton, Calif.) each went 2 for 4 to lead the Boxers offensively.

Pacific returns to Chuck Bafaro Stadium this weekend for their home finale series against Pacific Lutheran.  Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's single game will both begin at noon.  A video webcast of all three games will be available at GoBoxers.com.
