No. 2-ranked St. Thomas (26-4 overall, 14-0 MIAC) ran its season victory streak to 18 and home-field win streak to 37 with Thursday's conference baseball sweep of the Carleton Knights (12-16, 2-10).

UST pitchers allowed just two earned runs on the day.

UST stroked 27 hits on the day from 11 different batters. Tyler Peterson extended his hitting streak to 20 games, and Ben Podobinski had five hits.

Tim Kuzniar had a triple, a bases-loaded double and a sacrifice fly for four RBI in the opener. He has 20 RBI in his last 10 games.

In game two, J.D. Dorgan drove in two runs with a double and Cory Quinlan, Jon Kinsel and Kelvin Stroik added RBI singles.

Freshman Eric Veglahn (3-0) started game one and pitched into the fifth inning with five strikeouts and just one earned run allowed. Mark Ulrich pitched the final 2 1-3 innings and retired all seven batters, including four via strikeouts.
