Uhl Leads Saints to a 6-0 Win Over Geneva

(BEAVER FALLS, Pa.) - Senior pitcher Paul Uhl (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) threw a complete-game shutout to lead the Thomas More College baseball team to a 6-0 win over Geneva College today (Friday, May 3, 2013) in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game at 33rd Street Field in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.

With the win, the Saints improve to 25-12 overall and 15-7 in the PAC and the Golden Tornadoes fall to 12-20 overall and 8-14 in the PAC.

Thomas More scored three runs in the first, one in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the seventh, while Uhl only allowed four hits and struck out seven in nine innings pitched for the 6-0 victory.

Junior left fielder Jason Handley (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) led the team at the plate as he was three-for-five with a double and two run scored. Senior right fielder Ryan Darner (Burlington, Ky./Covington Catholic) was two-for-three with a run batted-in and a run scored, while junior third baseman Travis Miller (Erlanger, Ky./St. Henry) was one-for-five with two RBI.

The two teams will close out the three-game PAC series tomorrow with a doubleheader at 33rd Street Field. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
