Moosic, PA: The #6 Ramapo College Roadrunners fell to #2 Keystone College at the 2013 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Baseball Regional tonight, 4-2, at PNC Field.

The Giants held off a Rampao come back in the bottom of the ninth to advance to play #1 Kean University tomorrow at 4:30pm while Ramapo (29-15-1) will now play #5 John Hopkins University at 1:15pm in an elimination game.

Keystone took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning before adding three more runs in the top of the fourth for a 4-0 lead.

Ramapo would come up in the bottom of the sixth and cut the Keystone lead in half scoring two runs. Senior Anthony Vinci led off the inning with a single down the left field line and advanced to second on an error on the play. Senior Dave Jacob then walked while Vinci moved to third on a wild pitch. Jacob then stole second base, tying the Ramapo career stolen base record with his 55th career stolen base. Both runs would come home on infield ground outs before Keystone was able to get the final out of the inning.

With two runners on and one out in the top of the eighth for Keystone, senior relief pitcher Jimmy Knight induced a 6-4-3 double play to end the inning. The Roadrunners would put runners on first and second with two outs in the bottom of the eighth as Jacob singled and senior Christian Spurr walked. Keystone ended the inning with a strikeout to preserve the lead, 4-2.

In the bottom of the ninth, Berger led off with a walk before sophomore Zach Carroll ripped a single to left field. Following a pitching change by Keystone, pinch hitter Kevin Case put down a sac bunt to advance the runners 90 feet. Pinch hitter Scott Paulus then hit into a fielder's choice as Berger was thrown out at the plate for the second out of the inning. Rookie Joe Venturino walked to load the bases before the Giants induced a fly out to end the Ramapo threat for the final out of the game.

Ramapo starting pitcher senior Dan LaRocca worked the first 4.2 innings, he struck out two and walked three while scattering six hits. Knight struck out two and did not walk a batter while scattering three hits over the final 4.1 innings.
