Adrian fell 11-3 to top-seeded Webster (34-10) in an elimination game at the NCAA Central Regional on Friday and ended its season with an overall record of 32-15. The Bulldogs went 1-2 in the regional as the fifth seed and dropped back-to-back games after an opening 5-4 win over Wartburg.

Adrian fell behind 3-0 after two innings and came back to tie the score at 3-3 with a three-run fourth inning. Adrian had five hits in the inning as Dan Heatherly had a RBI double followed by a RBI single by Sam Fischer. Anthony Sergi also drove home a run but was picked off second on the old hidden-ball trick later in the inning to end the threat.

Adrian could not muster any more offense but did have the go-ahead runner on first in the fifth with one out but the run could not cross the plate. Webster responded with a five-run fifth to lead 8-3 and never look back. The Gorloks scored once more in the seventh and twice more in the eighth. The 17 hits by Webster tied a season-high allowed by the Bulldogs. Adrian had 12 hits but stranded six runners on base. Sergi and Garrett Green each had three hits in their final game. Green had a double as did Heatherly for Adrian. The top four hitters for Webster had 11 of the team's hits and three of their RBI's. Ryan Hall also went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI's in the nine-hole.

Brent Greenwood (4-4) took the loss going 4.1 innings and allowing 11 hits and six earned runs. Lucas Willitzer gave up his first run of May going 2.2 innings with two strikeouts. Cody Hafeli went the distance for Webster yielding three earned runs with no walks and four strikeouts to improve to 7-2. It was the sixth straight NCAA regional appearance for the Bulldogs and first trip to the Central Regional.
