Millikin Baseball Defeats Lakeland

          The Millikin baseball team picked up a 5-2 win over Lakeland College (Wis.) on March 11 at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.

          Millikin got a strong pitching outing from freshman Max Paolicchi who threw seven innings allowing four hits and two unearned runs while striking out six.  Kyle Davidson pitched the final two innings shutting down the Muskies to earn his first save of the season.

          Cody Blunk led the Millikin hitters going 3-5 with two runs scored.  Brian Dixon and Brian Ekiss each had two hits and an RBI.  Davidson and Lucas Stefan each had two hits for the Big Blue.  Andrew Huss and Keith Askins picked up the other Big Blue RBIs.

          Logan Karse and Tim Kuchenbecker each had two hits for the Muskies.

          Millikin will be back in action on Wednesday, March 12 in Fort Myers facing Principia College at 9 a.m. ET.
