Big Blue Rolls Over Principia

          The Millikin baseball team rolled to an 11-1 win in seven innings over Principia  College at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. on March 12.  It was the second straight win for the Big Blue.

          Millikin scored five runs in the third inning, one in the sixth and five in the seventh inning to end the game with a 10 run rule victory.

          Freshman Phillip Ganley was in control on the mound for Millikin earning the win with five innings pitched allowing only three hits and one earned run while striking out three.  Nik Duffle pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

          Senior Andrew Hendrian led the Millikin hitters going 2-3 with two doubles and four RBIs.  Hendrian's bases clearing double in the seventh end the game.  Keith Askins was 3-4 with two stolen bases for Millikin.  Brian Dixon had two hits and two RBIs.  Cody Blunk and Brian Ekiss each had two hits including a double.  Michael Tague and Kyle Davidson each had two RBIs for Millikin.

          Principia's lone run game in the fifth inning on a run scoring ground out by Ed Bargmann.

          Millikin will face Elms College in a doubleheader in Fort Myers on Thursday, March 13.
