Thomas More Falls, 6-2, to Suffolk on Fourth Day at Central Florida Invitational

(WINTER HAVEN, Fla.) - The Thomas More College baseball team fell, 6-1, to Suffolk University today (Thursday, March 13, 2014) on day four of the Central Florida Invitational at Chain of Lakes Stadium in Winter Haven, Florida.

With the loss the Saints fall to 2-4 and with the win, Suffolk improves to 1-5.

Suffolk scored three in the third, two in the fourth and one in the sixth, while holding Thomas More to one run in the fourth and one in the sixth.

Three Saint had multiple hits in the game as sophomore shortstop Marcus Woelfel (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison) was two-for-four with a run batted-in, senior left fielder Jason Hadley (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was two-for-five with a double and freshman third baseman Tommy Arzen (Edgewood, Ky/Covington Catholic) was two-for-five with a run scored.

Freshman pitcher Vic Newberry (Independence, Ky./Simon Kenton) suffered the loss on the mound as he started and pitched three innings, giving up three runs (all earned) on six hits and striking out one, while walking one.

The Saints close out their Florida swing tomorrow when the play Rhodes College a 9 a.m. at the Lake Myrtle Complex in Auburndale, Florida.
