MADISON, NJ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team defeated the Drew Rangers by a score of 10-0 in a non-conference matchup on the road from Doc Young Field on Thursday afternoon.  Old Westbury now stands at 7-13 on the season while Drew falls to 7-8.

Old Westbury's bats laid dormant early on until John Angelino's RBI single in the fourth inning scored Kevin Licul for the eventual game-winning run.

Angelino provided all the scoring the Panthers needed as starter Braylin Perez dominated the Rangers, combining with Alex DiSanto to complete Old Westbury's fourth shutout of the season.

The Panthers collected a bounty of insurance runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Byron White lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score teammate Jonathan Pagan, and Brandon Stein then lined a two run single to center field to send both Angelino and Kevin home in the eighth for a four run lead.

Pagan stayed hot in the following frame, pulling a three run blast over the left field wall, stretching the Panthers' lead to 7-0. A bases loaded walk by Tommy Ziegan brought in Alexander Abanavas for the RBI followed by a passed ball to score Matteo Gaudio. Jacob Conors then delivered a sacrifice fly to score Thomas Whitenack to close out the scoring books with a 10-0 final.

Pagan (2-5, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R), Licul (3-4, 2 R) and Angelino (3-3, RBI, R) stood out with multi-hit games in an offensive eruption for the Panthers.

Braylin Perez (1-2) earned his first victory of the season, scattering three hits in the shutout while striking out a season-best nine batters in eight innings of work. DiSanto sealed the win, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Bobby Miskura led the effort for Drew, going 1-for-3 with a walk in the Rangers' loss.

Leo Ruiz (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing one run and walking two Panthers in 4.1 innings of work.
