The Hamilton College baseball team lost both ends of a NESCAC West Division doubleheader to Williams Sunday at Bobby Coombs Field in Williamstown, Mass. The Ephs won game one 2-1 on a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh and rallied for a 6-3 victory in the nightcap.

In the opener the Continentals tied the score 1-1 in the top of the seventh after being blanked on four hits through their first seven at bats.

Robert Morris '17 beat out an infield single and Ryan Wolfsberg '17 singled through the right side with one out. After pinch-runner Jared Friedberg stole second the Saints intentionally walked Joe Jensen '15 to load the bases then couldn't make a play on a ground ball to short by Kenny Collins '17 that brought Morris home with the tying run.

The Ephs loaded the bases in the bottom of the inning with Jack Roberts and David Rosas '16 singling before Matt Kastner '14 was hit by a pitch. Hamilton's JJay Lane '15 picked up the second out of the inning on an infield grounder but Roberts scored the winning run on an infield hit by Thomas Stephens '14.

Lane (1-4) threw his team-leading third complete game. He struck out two Saints.

Jack Cloud '17 drove in St. Lawrence's first run with a single two batters after Luke Pierce '15 tripled to right center.

Collins led the Continentals with three of their seven hits.

Thomas Murphy '15 fanned eight Continentals in the complete-game win, improving to 4-2 on the year.

In the second game, Hamilton scored three times in the fourth to wrest the lead from St. Lawrence before the Saints scored in each of their last three at-bats.

Three straight extra-base hits in the fourth led to the Continentals coming back from a 2-0 deficit to take the lead. Collins walked with one out, then scored on a triple by Wolfsberg.  Steve LaRochelle '14 and Andrew Hauser '17 followed with doubles to Hamilton ahead.

Rosas singled in the tying run for Williams in the bottom of the sixth, driving a pitch up the middle to plate Roberts, who had tripled down the right field line.

An inning later Steph scored an unearned run after doubling with two outs. The Ephs sealed the win with a pair of eighth-inning runs with Roberts and Pierce contributing run-scoring singles.

Williams' Steve Marino '14 pitched a nine-inning complete game to earn the win. He faced just one batter over the minimum in the last five innings, allowing just two base runners but picking off a runner to squelch a Hamilton threat.

Stephens had three of the Ephs' 13 hits with Roberts, Rosa and Pierce adding two apiece.

Game three of the NESCAC West series will be played Friday, May 9 at Williams. The Continentals are scheduled to host SUNY Institute of Technology Friday at 4 p.m. Williams hosts Union Tuesday afternoon.
