FOREST GROVE – Donnie Bradley (Jr., Beaverton, Ore.) and Nathan Suyematsu (So., Tualatin, Ore.) keyed the game-winning two-run sixth inning Sunday as Pacific sent retiring Head Coach Greg Bradley out a winner with an 8-6 victory over Puget Sound in the 2014 baseball season finale at Chuck Bafaro Stadium.

With the game tied 6-6, Matt Hopp (Jr., Portland, Ore.) led off with a triple and scored the game-winning run on Suyematsu's double to left center.  Donnie Bradley then delivered a single up the middle, scoring Suyematsu from second second for the final tally.

Suyematsu and Donnie Bradley, the son of coach Greg Bradley, each had three hits in the game to lead the Boxers, with Donnie delivering three RBIs.  Suyematsu ends the season with a 16-game hitting streak.  With the win, Pacific concludes the season with a 13-25 record.  Puget Sound finished the season at 17-19.

At the start, though, it did not look like a winner as Puget Sound welcomed starter Levi Peterson (Jr., Denver, Colo.) in his final game by rattling him for four first inning runs.  Five of the six five Loggers' batter had hits and Chris Zerio opened scoring when his single scored Nikolas Alarcio.

Jeff Walton's sacrifice fly scored Connor Savage before Nathan Backes and Addison Melzer followed with RBI singles to give the Loggers a 4-0 lead.

Pacific took two runs back in the home half of the first.  Suyematsu and Ben Duerr (So., Lebanon, Ore.) led off with singles and Donnie Bradley put Pacific on the board when his single scored Suyematsu.  Duerr then came home on Justin Strayer's (So., Ventura, Calif.) fielder's choice.

The two teams traded runs in the third before the Boxers took the lead with a three-run fourth frame.  Grant Gabriel (Sr., Honolulu, Hawaii) drew a leadoff walk, advanced to third on Dan Jaffe's (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) fielder's choice and scored on Hopp's sacrifice bunt.

Jaffe tied the game when he scored on Suyematsu's double to right center field and gave Pacific the lead on Bradley's second single of the game.

Puget Sound tied it up again in the fifth when Zerio singled with one out and scored on Melzer's single to right before the Boxers scored in the winning sixth inning.

Quin Moore (Sr., Bellingham, Wash) earned the win in relief for the Boxers, allowing three hits and two walks in three innings of work.  T.C. Fairfield (Sr., Campbell, Calif.) earned the only save of his Pacific career, putting out the final batter of the game.

Peterson allowed six runs of 12 hits in 4.2 innings in his final game, while reliever Topher Mood (Sr., St. Helens, Ore.) struck out two while throwing an inning of relief.

Lucas Stone dropped to 4-5 with the loss for Puget Sound, allowing eight runs on 12 hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 5.1 innings.  Nickolas Alarcio went 4 for 5 to lead Puget Sound at the plate.
