HARRISONBURG, Va. – No. 9 Shenandoah University earned its 10th ODAC baseball victory of the season with a 5-3 win at Eastern Mennonite Wednesday.

Shenandoah (14-3-1, 10-2 ODAC) got the game started on a positive note with a Billy Arens inside-the-park home run.

Arens, who now has two dingers on the season, lofted a sinking liner to center that EMU (10-10, 4-6) centerfielder Griffin Stanley dove for and just missed.

The ball continued all the way to the fence, allowing Arens to hit the program's first inside-the-park home run sinceNolan Overby pulled the trick last season against Lynchburg.

Coach Kevin Anderson's club added two runs in the second and one each in the fourth and sixth to pull away from the Royals.

Freshman Colin Morse (3-0) tossed the first 8.0 innings before turning it over to Matt Riegler after hitting the leadoff hitter in the ninth.

Riegler induced a 6-3 double play and following a walk to Joe Hall, sophomore Ryan Kinter got the final out by getting Kyle Armstrong to hit into a groundball to short that retired Hall at second.

The save is the first of Kinter's career.

Designated hitter Nolan Overby led the SU offense with three hits in four at-bats while Arens and Ricky Pardo both had two hits and drove in two runs.

Pardo had an RBI single in the second and a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Arens had an RBI single in the second in addition to his leadoff HR.
