Wheaton Upends Husson

LEESBURG, FL - Jordan Carter (Ellsworth, ME) launched a homerun and added a double but the Husson University baseball team fell to Wheaton (MA) by the score of 9-2 on Thursday afternoon. Husson is now 1-6 on its roadtrip while Wheaton is 4-3.

Wheaton scored two runs in the second, fifth, seventh and eighth innings to take an 8-0 lead through the top of the eighth. Adam Wilson (Harrison, ME) was hit by a pitch to open the eighth before Carter hit his towering shot over the fence in left field. 

The Eagles could get no closer though.

Carter went 2-3 with a pair of RBIs while JT Whitten (Waterville, ME) and Andrew Curran (Hampstead, NH) added hits. 

Dennis O'Neil (Mount Desert, ME) pitched 7.0 innings, giving up five earned runs and took the loss as his record is now 0-1.

Zachary Goodwin-Boyd went 3-5 with a homerun for Wheaton while Jared Clement pitched 7.0 innings and gave up two earned runs to get the win.  

Husson continues play tomorrow against Dickinson.
