Immaculata, PA – After being held scoreless in the first two innings of Friday afternoon's Colonial States Athletic Conference baseball game at Immaculata University, Keystone College put up runs in each of the final seven innings to pull away with a big, 15-5 victory over the Mighty Macs.  The Giants, who have now won their last four games and seven of their last eight contests, improves to 22-11 overall and 8-5 in conference play while Immaculata slides to 16-10 on the spring and 10-3 in the CSAC.

Keystone took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning of Friday afternoon's contest.  Julian Lanfranco (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) scored from third as Kevin Luciano (Everett, MA/Cambridge Rindge and Latin School) hit into a fielder's choice for the first run of the game before Dylan Corl (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch ) came home as Luciano was thrown out trying to steal second to give the Giants a two-run advantage.

The visitors broke the game open with six unearned runs in the top of the fourth inning, taking advantage of three hits and three Immaculata errors to open up an 8-0 lead.  Eduardo Familia (Bronx, NY/Collegio Utesianode Estudios Integrados) came home on an error on a sacrifice bunt by Cody Darley (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) before Lanfranco ripped a two-run double the gap in left-center.  Louis Reyes (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) then hit an RBI single to left field before Luciano connected on a two-run single down the left-field line to extend Keystone's lead to eight runs.

The Giants pushed their lead to 9-0 in the visitor's fifth on an RBI single off the bat of Darley before the Mighty Macs got on the board with a two-run double from Ryan Ficca to cut their deficit to 9-2 at the end of five innings of play.  Keystone answered right back in the top of the sixth inning as Familia laced an RBI triple to the alley in right-center to drive in Luciano to give the Giants an eight-run cushion.

Keystone opened up a 12-2 lead in the visitor's seventh as Lanfranco and Nate Ross (Albuquerque, NM/La Cueva) both came home on the Mighty Macs' fifth error of the game on a ball hit by Corl.  Darley then slugged a two-run home run over the left-field fence to give the Giants a 14-2 advantage in the top of the eighth inning.  Luciano then added an RBI single in the visitor's ninth inning to make it a 12-run ballgame.

Immaculata scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to close out the scoring.  Mike Lascomb drew a bases-loaded walk, Austin Stern drove in a run by grounding into a fielder's choice, and Howie Kalaments scored from third when Stern was thrown out trying to steal second, but the host's deficit proved to be far too great to overcome.

Darren Lauer (New Hope, PA/Council Rock North) improved to 4-3 on the season by scattering six hits and two runs while striking out five batters in seven innings on the mound for Keystone.  Hector Vargas (Queens, NY/Forest Hills) was charged with three runs without giving up a hit and fanning three batters in an inning of work while Jake Granteed (West Pittston, PA/Wyoming Area) got the final three outs of the game including one via the K to close out the win for the Giants.

Luciano finished the game 3-5 with four RBIs, Darley went 2-4 with four RBIs while Lanfranco and Reyes each collected three hits to power Keystone's offense.

Immaculata starter Dan Whalen (3-2) suffered the loss after allowing nine runs on eight hits to go along with three strikeouts in five innings of work before a trio of Mighty Macs worked out of the bullpen to close out the game.

Lascomb, Jason McCormick, and Rob Wallace each had two hits for the hosts in the loss.

Keystone will host Immaculata on Saturday for a key CSAC doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Christy Mathewson Field in La Plume.
