Farmingdale, N.Y. - Senior Tom Rydzewski (Franklin Square, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the first inning with a single to right center to break the Farmingdale State school record for career hits. Sophomore center fielder Matteo Gaudio (Glen Cove, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the third with an infield single and advanced to third on a Michael Marino (Franklin Square, N.Y.) single to right. In the Rams (16-14) next at-bat, junior first baseman Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.) hit a sac fly to increase the lead to 2-0.

Farmingdale State added a run in the fourth as Rydzewski again scored on a wild pitch and an unearned run in the seventh en route to the 4-0 non-conference win.

Marino was 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored, while Rydzewski had one hit and scored two runs.

Junior pitcher Kevin Martinez (Glen Cove, N.Y.) recorded a no decision after throwing four hitless innings with three strikeouts. Freshman Brandon Ernest (Owings, MD) earned the win and improved to 3-1 on the season after two scoreless innings of relief.

Farmingdale State will host Stevens in a non-conference game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
