Scranton, PA – Keystone College rolled into the championship round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs with a 12-0 victory over Immaculata University in a winners' bracket game played on Friday morning at Marywood University.  The Giants, now 30-12 this spring, will play for their seventh-straight CSAC crown on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. with two chances to secure the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Championships.

#3 Neumann, who ousted top-seed Marywood 13-7 in 10 innings in Friday morning's elimination game, will take on #4 Immaculata in another elimination game on Friday afternoon that will determine Keystone's opponent for Saturday.  Keystone needs just one win on Saturday to lock up the CSAC title while their opponent will need to defeat the Giants twice to unseat the reigning champions.

Keystone opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Gaston Rojas (Carmel, NY/Carmel) scored on a passed ball to give the Giants an early, 1-0 advantage.  Eduardo Familia (Bronx, NY/Collegio Utesianode Estudios Integrados) then doubled Alex Herceg (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) in the home third to double the Giants' lead at 2-0.

Keystone extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Herceg scored from third when Familia grounded into a double play before Louis Reyes (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) scored on an infield single off the bat of Nate Ross (Albuquerque, NM/La Cueva)

The Giants added four runs in the home sixth to push their advantage to 8-0.  Herceg hit a two-run single to right field that plate Rojas and Julian Lanfranco (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian) before Kevin Luciano (Everett, MA/Cambridge Rindge and Latin School) lifted a two-run home run deep over the left-centerfield fence.

Keystone scored four runs on five hits in the bottom of the eighth inning to close out the scoring.  Reyes and Ross hit RBI singles before Chris Bzozowski (Westampton, NJ/Bishop Eustace) drove in Anthony Muccio (Tarrytown, NY/Archbishop Stepinac) with a sacrifice fly.  The Giants scored the final run of the game when Rojas was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded allowing Reyes to trot home.

The offense was more than enough for Keystone starter James Dunning (Scranton, PA/West Scranton), who improve to 7-1 on the season after scattering four hits and recording four strikeouts in a dominating, eight-inning outing.  Austin Barefoot (Alexandria, PA/Tyrone Area) took over on the mound in the ninth inning and retired the side in order, with one strikeout, to close out the victory.

Herceg went 4-6 with two RBIs and four runs scored to power Keystone's offense, which outhit Immaculata's by a 15-4 margin.  Luciano and Ross added two runs and a pair of RBIs apiece while Reyes also connected on a pair of hits in the win.

Immaculata starter Dan Whalen (3-4) suffered the loss after allowing seven runs – only three of which were earned – on eight hits and six walks while striking out four batters in five innings of work.  The Mighty Macs, who committed five errors in the game, went on to use four relievers to close out the game.

Jason McCormick, Matt Lawson, Howie Kalamets, and Chuck Wyckoff accounted for Immaculata's four hits in the game.
