The start of the contest Thursday featured swirling winds and occasionally heavy rain, but the Eagles were able to get out to a fast start.  Taylor Kohlwey hit a double down the right field line with one out.  Justin Anderson drove in Kohlwey with single to center field followed by a two-run home run by Ben Morgan to give UW-L a 3-0 lead after one-half inning.

Washington (Mo.) answered in the bottom of the frame with a two-run home run from Zack Kessinger off of UW-L starter Ben Cejka to cut the lead to 3-2.

The Bears took the lead in the bottom of the second.  A single and two walks loaded the bases with one out when a wild pitch scored Brandon Deger to make it 5-3 and move the runners to second and third.  Another walk loaded the bases, and with two outs Kessinger singled down the left field line scoring two runs to tie the game at 5-5.  A Brian Cizek single drove in CJ Price and Washington (Mo.) had its first lead at 6-5.

The Eagles drew even in the top of the ninth with a two-out rally as Kohlwey doubled down the right field line and scored on Anderson's single to center field to tie the game at 6-6.

The score remained tied until the top of the 13th inning.  Cordova tripled to left field with one out, and after Kohlwey was intentionally walked, pinch-hitter Seth Feldman had a safety squeeze bunt down the right side of the infield scoring Cordova with the go-ahead run. Morgan followed with a single to right field, but Kohlwey was thrown out at home for the second out of the inning.  Bryce Barsness hit an RBI single to left field to score pinch-runner Alex Brown to make it 8-6.
