MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Forrest Hunter had a home run and two RBIs and Perry Rigby drove in three runs, but the Covenant baseball team fell to nationally-ranked Webster 13-8 on Saturday to conclude the Rhodes Classic.

Covenant drops to 5-4 on the year while Webster, ranked No. 6 in the D3baseball.com preseason Top 25, goes to 1-0.

Trenton Nobles led the Scots' 12-hit attack by going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and Alex Kerr went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI in the loss. Devin Cerrato also drove in a run while going 1-for-5 with a run scored.

Covenant fell behind 1-0 after the top of the first but tied the score in the bottom half of the inning when Kerr singled home Cerrato with one out. The Scots took a 2-1 lead in the second when Hunter hit his second career home run, a solo shot to left-center field.

Webster rallied with three runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take a 7-2 lead. Covenant chipped away at the deficit with two runs in the sixth as Hunter produced an RBI ground out before Cerrato doubled home Stephen Kegley to make it 7-4. The Scots scored twice more in the seventh as Rigby reached on a fielder's choice that scored Kerr and then a subsequent Webster error allowed Joel Johnson to come home to make it 8-6.

But Webster broke the game open with a five-run eighth inning and would on as Covenant scored twice in the ninth.

Covenant's Jonah Paul (2-1) gets the loss, while Webster starter Jack Bensinger (1-0) receives the win.
