MEADVILLE, Pa. - Led by a 5-for-5 effort from senior Joe Killian, the Gators reached the 20-hit plateau for the first time in eight seasons as they cruised past Fredonia 12-2 on a sun-splashed afternoon at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

Killian bashed a home run, triple, and three singles, while driving in five RBIs to lead a scorching Gator offense that saw six starters record multi-hit games.  Robert DiMaggio went 4-for-5 for the second time in as many games, while Jacob Shick went 3-for-5, and Dan Bonnett 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBIs, and three runs scored.

Junior Cory Keenan started and went five innings to earn the win on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts.  Robert Julian threw two innings of scoreless relief, with Hayden Smith and Cy Perry each tossing a shutout frame apiece.

The Gators wasted little time getting on the board, taking a 2-0 lead after just four batters in the bottom of the first.  With one out, DiMaggio laced a two-strike single to center field, before crossing the plate on a Killian triple into the right field corner.  One pitch later, Tyler Wagner fisted a single up the middle to plate Killian and give the Gators the two-run lead.

Bonnett led off the bottom of the second by getting hit by a pitch, and two batters later, Patrick Orr doubled to the fence in right.  Freshman A.J. Bristol followed with a single to left to bring home Bonnett, before Ethan Pawlak laced a one-base hit to left center to allow Orr to cross the plate.  DiMaggio then followed with his second single in as many innings, scoring Bristol and giving Allegeny a 5-0 lead after two innings.

In the bottom of the third, Shick was the catalyst, lining a two-strike single to center field, and then Bonnett crushed the second pitch of his at-bat over the 365-foot sign in left center field for the Gators' first longball of the season, making the score 7-0 Gators.

After Fredonia pushed across single runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, the Gators got one back in the home half of the fifth.  Bonnett led off with a double to the fence in right center, and two batters later, crossed the plate on an RBI groundout from Orr to make it 8-2.

In the bottom of the sixth, Pawlak led off by reaching on an error, before moving to third on a DiMaggio double down the third base line.  Killian then followed with a line drive home run down the left field line, bringing home Pawlak and DiMaggio and putting the Gators up 11-2.

Allegheny closed out the game's scoring with a trio of singles in the bottom of the seventh.  Pawlak led off with a liner to right center, before DiMaggio beat out an infield single to short.  Killian then picked up his fifth hit and fifth RBI of the game as he hustled out a grounder to third, allowing Pawlak to cross the plate with Allegheny's 12th run of the afternoon.

While the Gators' offense was on display, the team's pitching proved equally effective.  Julian, Smith, and Perry combined to allow just three baserunners over the final four frames, with Julian throwing a pair of groundball double plays. Smith shook off a walk and a single in the eighth to induce a strikeout and groundout, before catcher Vincent Carrone threw out a potential base thief at second base to end the inning.  Perry needed just six pitches in the top of the ninth to record three outs, with a fly out and a pair of ground balls.

Pawlak (2-for-5) and Orr (2-for-4) posted the first multi-hit games of their careers, with the former scoring a pair of runs, and the latter one.  Wagner and Bristol each had one hit apiece, as eight of the Gators' nine starters recorded at least one base knock.  The 20 hits were the most in a game for the Gators in almost exactly seven years, as they also racked 20 on Mar. 15, 2008 in a win over Wentworth in Port Charlotte, Florida.

Zachary Jordon started and took the loss for Fredonia (3-3), working three innings and allowing seven runs on 11 hits, with a pair of strikeouts.  The Blue Devils were led at the plate by catcher Patrick Sheehan, who went 2-for-3, while Michael Prentice and Kevin Yerinec each doubled.

Allegheny will now have an eight-day respite before opening up its spring break trip to Florida with a doubleheader against Hamilton College on Sunday, Mar. 20.  First pitch is slated for 1:45 p.m. at the Chain O'Lakes Complex in Auburndale, Fla
