DelVal Baseball Stays Hot At The Plate In 18-0 Shutout Of Valley Forge

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University baseball team shut out the University of Valley Forge, 18-0 in eight innings on Wednesday. The game was ended early due to darkness.

The Aggies improved to 14-12 on the year while the Patriots dropped to 1-24.

Junior left fielder/catcher Wayne Kinsey led DelVal with three hits (five at-bats), two triples, four RBI and one run scored. Junior center fielder Nate Cummings was two-for-three with a triple, three RBI and two runs scored. Sophomore designated hitter Matt Beyer registered a triple and one RBI and scored once. Sophomore second baseman Brett Schatz knocked in three runs and scored twice while junior first baseman Javar Outlaw and freshman center fielder Frank Richardson each hit a double.

Freshman Joe McGlade picked up the win (1-0) in his collegiate debut. He went five innings and allowed one hit while striking out four. Waldo Odens Jr. suffered the loss (0-3).

Catcher Ryon McGinness and left fielder David Castro-Ward both recorded a double for Valley Forge.

Next, the Aggies host Manhattanville College for a conference game on Friday, April 22 (3:30 p.m.).
