The Short Story: Johns Hopkins, ranked #27 in the latest ABCA Coaches Poll, clinched its 15th consecutive Centennial Conference Tournament appearance with a  5-1 win at Washington College Wednesday. The Blue Jays are the only Centennial program to reach the conference tournament in all 15 years since the postseason format began in 2002. 

Nick Burns threw seven strong innings in the win, allowing just four hits and one run while striking out five. Burns had five 1-2-3 innings and retired the last 12 hitters he faced. Ross Lazicky came on to pitch the eighth and ninth innings for the Jays and only allowed one Shoreman to reach base.

Raul Shah, Brian Lin and Ryan Orgielewicz each had two-hit games for the Blue Jays. Lin crushed a 2-RBI double in the second inning to get Hopkins on the board and Orgielewicz singled him in later in the inning. The final two JHU runs came in the seventh inning on RBIs from Orgielewicz and Conor Reynolds.

The Facts:
- Hopkins increased its win streak against Washington to six and is now 13-0-1 in its last 14 overall.
- All three of Nick Burns' wins have come against Centennial foes.
- The top three batters in the Hopkins order were a combined 0-for-12 in Wednesday's win.
- Neither team made an error in the contest. Dan Albert made two great snags at first to keep Shoremen hitters off the basepaths.
- The Blue Jays walked just one Shoreman and did not hit any, marking the third time this season they gave out less than two free passes.
- Shah recorded his third straight multi-hit game. The senior now has 20 games with at least two hits this season.

Up Next: Hopkins will look to clinch the top seed in the Centennial Tournament on Friday when it plays host to Washington in the back end of the home-and-home series. First pitch against the Shoremen is scheduled for 3:30pm.
