Scranton Baseball Drops Series Finale At Drew, 9-0

MADISON, N.J. – The University of Scranton baseball team completed the Landmark Conference portion of its schedule on Monday with a 9-0 loss at Drew at Doc Young Field.

The Royals (16-21, 9-12 Landmark) had just seven hits while being shut out for the first time since a 6-0 loss to Swarthmore back on March 11. Sophomore third baseman Brad Schneider (Ambler, Pa./LaSalle College H.S.) was the lone Royal with multiple hits, finishing with a pair of singles. Junior first baseman Alex Muggeo (Harrington Park, N.J./St. Joseph Regional) added a double off the bench.

Drew (18-21, 11-10) clinched the final Landmark Conference playoff spot with the victory.

Scranton will complete its season on Wednesday when the Royals take on Keystone at 5 p.m. at PNC Field in nearby Moosic.
