The Lancaster Bible College baseball team once again headed to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for spring break and through two days, the Chargers have posted a 1-2 record. Lancaster Bible dropped its opening game to NCAA Division II Benedict, 13-1 on Saturday night and then split two games with Alfred State and Hood on Sunday afternoon. The Chargers continue their trip on Monday when they play Rutgers-Newark at 6 p.m.

Benedict (S.C.) 13, Lancaster Bible 1
Game Notes: Trailing, 5-0, Lancaster Bible scored its lone run of the game in the bottom of the third on an RBI single from sophomore Adam Cohick...The Chargers used four pitchers, including Tyler Greenly, Kyle Ebersole and Jesse Carver, who saw their first action of the season...Lancaster Bible committed four errors as the Chargers' pitchers allowed just five earned runs.

Inside the Box Score: Sophomore Will Welsh went 3-for-4 for the Chargers...Cohick finished 2-for-2 with an RBI, while senior Justin Taylor was 1-for-4 with a run scored...Josh Mayer and Zack Leonard each added a hit as well...Carver threw a scoreless inning in his collegiate debut as he struck out one and walked one.

Game Notes: Zack Leonard was the man for the Chargers in the team's Sunday opener, as Leonard went eight innings, allowed just five hits and struck out eight...Leonard walked only one and kept the Alfred State bats silent...The Chargers got on the board in the first as Welsh doubled home Jensen King and Cohick followed with a two-run single that scored Justin Taylor and Welsh...Michael Hill's double in the eighth plated the fourth run of the game for Lancaster Bible as Welsh scored...Alfred State got two runs in the ninth as Leonard looked for the complete game, but gave up a two-run home run...Senior Gabe Yoder came in and slammed the door for his first save of the season.
