Battling Bishops blank the Bison, 4-0

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – The Nichols College baseball team fell 4-0 to Ohio Wesleyan Wednesday morning in the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida.
 
Despite outhitting the Battling Bishops, the Bison were unable to get on the scoreboard for the first time since April of last season. Nichols had seven hits by seven different student-athletes – including freshmanChristopher Cerniglia (Monroe, N.J.) and junior Cam Cook(Phoenixville, Pa.) who have had a hit in each of the first six games this season.
 
Sophomore John Rings (Centerburg, Ohio) paced Ohio Wesleyan with a pair of hits while the only RBI of the game came from classmate Anthony Crow (Morrow, Ohio) on a bases loaded walk in the sixth inning.
 
Junior Jackson White (South Dartmouth, Mass.) took the loss after allowing four runs (one earned) through 5.2 innings of work on five hits and one strikeout.
 
The Battling Bishops' junior Kevin Zullo (Hudson, Ohio) pitched the complete game shutout – allowing just seven hits and striking out six.
 
All-Time Series
The Bison fall to 1-5 in the all-time series with the Battling Bishops. Their only win in the series came last spring.
