Union, N.J. – Keystone College's Troy Terzi (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame ) allowed just two hits in a complete game shutout victory over #25 Kean University as the Giants blanked the Cougars 6-0 in non-conference baseball action on Tuesday afternoon.  The Giants improve to 6-5 on the season with the win while the Cougars slip to 9-7 this spring.

Tuesday's victory marked the second year in a row that Keystone has defeated regional rival Kean following a 6-3 triumph in La Plume last spring.

Terzi struck out seven batters on the day and walked just one batter while improving to 2-0 overall and dropping his ERA to 1.82 in 29.2 innings of work this season. The junior right-hander needed just 94 pitches to turn in the complete game and yielded just a two-out double in the fourth inning and a leadoff single in the sixth.

Keystone jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in their first at-bats of the game with a pair of unearned runs as Billy Nelson (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) came home on an error before Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area) drove in Brendan Long (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) with a single.

The Giants pushed their lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning when Long launched a home run over the left field fence before Brady Barr (Bowie, Md./Bowie) scored Keystone's fourth run off a sacrifice fly from Bray Curreri (Eldred, N.Y./Eldred Central)

In the visitor's seventh, a sacrifice fly from Long plate Anthony Ferrezza (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) before Keystone closed out the scoring in the ninth inning as Ferrezza scored on a wild pitch.

Ferrezza and Nelson had three hits apiece to lead Keystone  while Long and Brady Barr (Bowie, Md./Bowie) added two hits apiece as the top four batters in the Giants combined to go 10-17.  The Giants totaled 14 hits in the contest coming from eight of the team's nine batters.

Long drove in two runs and scored twice while Ferrezza also scored a pair of runs.

Kean starter Richie Ferguson (1-2) was charged with the loss after allowing five runs on 12 hits to go with seven strikeouts in eight innings on the hill.  Anthony Hirujo surrendered one run on two hits in the final inning on the mound for the Cougars.

Keystone will open Colonial States Athletic Conference play on Friday against Cabrini University at Archbishop Carroll High School in Radnor, Pennsylvania.  First pitch of Friday's game, which was moved from La Plume due to unplayable field conditions due to snow at Keystone, is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
