La Plume, Pa. – Visiting Moravian College scored the tying run in the eighth inning before getting the game-winning run in the ninth inning to rally for a 3-2 win over Keystone College in a non-conference baseball tilt on Wednesday at Christy Mathewson Field.  The Greyhounds improve to 9-12 on the season with their seventh straight win while the Giants slip to 12-7 overall while having a five-game winning streak snapped.

Keystone opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning when Brendan Long (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) drove in Anthony Ferrezza (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) with a sacrifice fly to deep center to give the Giants a 1-0 lead, but Moravian tied the game in its next trip to the plate with an RBI groundout.

Brady Barr (Bowie, Md./Bowie) led off the bottom of the sixth inning by launching his team-leading sixth home run of the year deep over the left field wall to give Keystone a 2-1 lead.  The Giants were unable to add to their advantage though despite loading the bases with one out later in the inning.

The Greyhounds tied the game in the top of the eighth inning when Tim Heard hit a two-out, pinch hit RBI single to right field, knotting the contest at 2-2.

In the top of the ninth inning, Moravian put runners on second and third with one out before an intentional walk loaded the bases.  Joey Maker then delivered an RBI single to center field, though a great throw from Tony Hunter II (Savannah, Ga./South Effingham) prevented a second runner from scoring to minimize the Greyhounds lead to 3-2.

Keystone put the tying run on base with one out in the ninth inning, but the visitors got a game-ending double play to secure the comeback victory.

Moravian starting pitcher Ian Carbone took a no-decision after allowing two runs on four hits while striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings.  The Greyhounds used a trio of reliever before getting to winning pitcher Ryan Kahn, who picked up the win after striking out a pair of batters in a scoreless eighth inning with one hit against.  Evan Kulig took over in the ninth inning to pick up the save with one K as the visitors fanned 12 Keystone batters on the day.

Maker paced Moravian with three hits while Austin Markowski added a pair of hits for the Greyhounds, who held a 11-7 edge in hits for the game.

Keystone starter Tyler Widitz (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) pitched two scoreless inning with three hits against while Gerry Gonzalez (Manhattan, N.Y./Progress) tossed a scoreless third with one K and three walks.  Pat Meagher (Wall Township, N.J./Wall) gave up an unearned run in 1.2 innings of work, Joe DeAngelis (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) tossed 1.2 innings of shutout ball, and Miguel Reyes (Bronx, N.Y./Monroe) was charged with one run on three hits to go along with one strikeout in two innings.  Long suffered the loss after yielding one run on one hit and two walks in the ninth inning.

Billy Nelson (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) led the Giants with two hits on the day as the hosts stranded 10 runners on base in the contest.

Keystone now turns its attention to an important Colonial States Athletic Conference series with Gwynedd Mercy University this weekend.  The Giants are scheduled to host the Griffins in a single game on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. before the two squads meet for a doubleheader at Gwynedd Mercy on Sunday starting at 1:00 p.m.
