BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) baseball team christened their new home, American Legion Field, routing John Jay College 15-1 in a non-conference victory on Thursday afternoon.

Senior Nicholas LoPrinzi (Howard Beach, N.Y./St. Francis Prep) and sophomore John Condon (Oceanside, N.Y./Oceanside) drove in four runs each. Freshmen Andrew Waters (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian), Matthew Rienzi (Maspeth, N.Y./Xavier) and Peter Terranova (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) combined to toss two-hitter—matching the team record for fewest hits allowed in a game.

• After Bears starter Andrew Waters sat down the Bloodhounds in order to start the game, the Bears opened for six runs in the first with all but one run coming in unearned as the visitors committed two miscues, the first of four in the ballgame. Back-to-back RBI singles from Nicholas LoPrinzi and John Condon opened the scoring and later a bases-loaded two-run double by William DeLuca highlighted the opening frame.
• John Jay picked up their lone run of the game in the second after Dylan Laudano led off the inning with a walk, advanced to second on a passed ball and scored unearned on a two-out single by Brian Cabral. But that would be the lone blemish on Waters who gave up only one hit through six innings in his first collegiate victory.
• The Bears posted two more runs in the third and one run in the fourth with Adam Schwartz and Condon delivering run-scoring doubles.
• St. Joseph's built a double-digit lead, 11-1, on the first Bears home run at American Legion Field—LoPrinzi launching a two-run blast over the left field wall that scored Kevin Linitz.
• The Bears had another big inning in the seventh to cap off the scoring posting four unearned runs on just two hits. SJC loaded the bases and LoPrinzi drew a walk and Condon belting a two-RBI single.

• The only other nine-inning two-hitter in program history also came against John Jay in a 19-1 victory on April 9, 2009. Chris Coffey, Jon Cubero and Danny Contant combined to toss the two-hitter.
