Gwynedd Mercy Notches Fourth-Straight Win

ALLAMUCHY, N.J. -- Gwynedd Mercy won their fourth game in a row on Monday, defeating Centenary, 10-5, in a Colonial States Athletic Conference matchup. With the win, the Griffins take all three regular-season meetings with the Cyclones for the first time since the 2012 season.

Nick Mulvey was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI's and hit his first career home run, a solo shot in the seventh.Shaughn Wright also had three hits and a pair of runs knocked in as Gwynedd (16-10-1, 7-5 CSAC) built a commanding 10-0 lead before Centenary scored their runs in the eighth and ninth innings.

Wright's RBI single in the first got things started. Jason Mulvey added a two-run triple in the second as part of a three-run frame to put GM up 4-0.

GMercyU tacked on runs in the third, fifth, and seventh before another three-spot in the eighth. Wright would knock home Tatoian with a single to left. After Justin Curtin drew a walk with the bases loaded, Nick Mulveyplated Ryan Keen for the 10-0 advantage.

Jared Gorman worked six scoreless innings, scattering four hits, to pick up the win.

The Griffins will start a weekend series this weekend with Cabrini starting on Friday when the Cavaliers visit Gwynedd Valley on Friday in a 3 p.m. start.
