ASHLAND, Va.  – No. 1 Shenandoah University baseball earned its 30th win of the season Friday with a 5-4, 11-inning ODAC victory over Randolph-Macon.

Shenandoah (30-3, 13-3 ODAC) scored the game-winning run in the top of the 11th thanks to a Dan Cameron double to right.

Cameron's double, one of 12 hits on the day for the Hornets, scored Abel Arocho from first. Arocho had reached with a two-out single to right.

Tyler Hott (3-0) gave up a leadoff double in the bottom of the inning, but got a pair of strikeouts following a sacrifice bunt to earn the victory.

No. 11/10 Macon (24-9, 12-5) led 2-0 thanks to two runs in the third off of SU starter Colin Morse, but saw Shenandoah rally with four runs on four hits in the fifth.

Following a Jake Loew RBI double, Neil Dutton had a two-run double to left center to bring home Loew and Nick Goode.

Goode had reached on a walk.

R-MC knotted the game at 4-4 with one run in the seventh and another in the eighth.

Hott allowed just the one hit in 3.0 innings of relief while striking out three.

Morse pitched 8.0 innings, allowing four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out nine.

Rick Spiers (1-2) took the loss with 2 2/3 innings of relief work. He gave up one run on two hits and one walk.

These two teams complete their series Saturday morning with an 11 a.m. contest.

Note: The 30th regular season win marks the first time since 2011 that SU has won 30 games in the regular season. The 2011 squad, which is also the last squad to be ranked No. 1, also started its season with 30 wins in its first 33 games.
