MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College and Oberlin College split a nonconference baseball doubleheader Wednesday (April 26) evening at Don Schaly Stadium. The Yeomen won game one, 8-7 in 10 innings, and the Pioneers took the second game, 5-2.

Mike Masella bounced a single through the right side of the infield in the top of the tenth inning scoring Milo Sklar from second base with the winning run. Sklar led off the inning with a double down the right field line.

Sklar (1-0) then took the mound and tossed his second inning of shutout relief to get the win. The Oberlin bullpen held Marietta scoreless over the final four innings allowing the Yeomen offense to come from behind for the victory.

Marietta scored a run in the first and three more in the second for a 4-0 lead. Oberlin took advantage of three Pioneer errors to plate five runs in the top of the third. The lead didn't last as Marietta answered with two in the bottom of the frame for a 6-5 lead.
