ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT baseball team (23-7, 16-1 Liberty League) celebrated Senior Day by extending its Liberty League winning streak to 13 games after sweeping St. Lawrence University (10-16, 8-8 Liberty League) by scores of 9-2 and 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

RIT head coach Rob Grow won his 450th game at the university in game one. In addition, RIT clinched a postseason berth in game two and moved closer to securing its first regular season title.
Before the doubleheader, RIT honored seniors Tom Dillon, Will Gorman, Brett Kajganich, Mike Myers, and Phil Sammon.

"It was great to honor our seniors and get two key wins today," said Grow. "Our pitching was tremendous."

In game one, RIT jumped right out to a 4-0 lead and after St. Lawrence threatened with single runs in the fourth and fifth inning, put the game away with three more in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Daniel Zeglen was 2-for-2 with a triple and career-high tying four RBIs, while scoring two runs and drawing a walk. Gorman was 2-for-4 with a double and three runs scored. Myers doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Brian Reed was dominant once again on the mound, throwing his fourth complete game of the season, allowing six hits and two runs, while walking one and striking out 10 batters. Reed is now 5-0 in Liberty League play and 6-1 overall.
Devin Robson led the Saints by going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, run scored, and RBI. On the mound, Sam Downes took the loss, allowing eight hits and eight runs, while striking out six in five innings.
In game two, the duo of Stevie Branche and Brett Bouchard combined to limit the Saints to just two hits. Branche allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out eight batters in seven innings for his second win of the season. Bouchard pitched the final two innings, allowing just a hit for his fourth save of the season.
Branche wiggled out of trouble in the fifth inning, as an error, wild pitch, and fielder's choice put runners on first and third with nobody out. The freshman hurler would take control, striking out the side to end the threat.
Offensively, Kajganich was 2-for-4 with a double, home run, two runs scored, and a RBI. Zeglen was 2-for-3 with a RBI.
RIT opened the scoring in the fourth inning, as Kajganich led off with a double and scored on a double by Zeglen. The Tigers would add to the lead in the seventh inning, as Patrick Mylott led off with a walk and would eventually come around to score on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. Kajganich would give RIT a 3-0 lead with a solo home run over the right field fence, his first of the year.
St. Lawrence starter Emmett Dunn was strong in the loss, allowing five hits and two walks, while striking out nine batters. Brendon Frank had both Saints hits.
The Tigers have now won 16 of their last 17 overall and 20 of their last 23 since March 30. RIT's 23 wins are one shy of the program record, set in both 2006 and 2007. RIT also won 23 games in 2015.
Grow is now 451-430-1 in 25 seasons at the university.
RIT and St. Lawrence will wrap up its regular season series on Sunday with a doubleheader from Tiger Stadium that gets underway at 11 a.m.
