Immaculata, Pa. – Keystone College defeated Immaculata University 6-2 on Thursday afternoon to move to within one win of locking up the #1 seed for next week's Colonial States Athletic Conference baseball playoffs.  The Giants (27-11, 16-3 CSAC) need one win in Saturday's doubleheader against the Mighty Macs (22-9, 15-4 CSAC) to secure the top seed in the conference tournament.

Both teams have already clinched first round home games to be played next Wednesday before the final rounds of the tournament are played at PNC Field in Moosic next weekend.

Troy Terzi (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame ) struck out 10 batters in a complete game performance on the mound and retired the final 13 batters that he faced to improve to 7-0 on the season.  The junior right-hander, who walked just one batter on the day, was perfect over the final four innings in the win.

Keystone loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the first inning on Thursday and took a 1-0 lead when Billy Nelson (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) was hit by a pitch, but the Giants were unable to extend their lead despite beyond the single run.

Immaculata went ahead 2-1 by scoring a pair of runs on three hits in the bottom of the third inning, tying the game on an RBI double from Howie Kalamets, who then scored the go-ahead run on a single from Justin Dempsey.

Keystone came back to tie the game at 2-2 in the visitor's fourth when Austin Chaszar (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) scored on a passed ball, who then gave the Giants a 4-2 lead the following inning with a two-run single through the left side that plated Brady Barr (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area).

The visitors extended their lead to four runs in the top of the seventh as Nelson drove in Panzarella with a double to left field before coming home on a Chaszar double to right field to give Keystone the 6-2 cushion which would stand as the final score.

Chaszar went 2-4 with three RBI while Nelson drove in a pair of runs to lead the Giants offense as the visitors held an 8-5 advantage in hits for the game.

Immaculata starter Trevor O'Brien took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits and striking out eight batters in 4.2 innings before the hosts turned to the bullpen and used a pair of relievers to close out the game.

Kalamets had a team-best two hits for the Mighty Macs, who committed three errors in the contest to one for the Giants.

Keystone and Immaculata will close out the regular season with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12:00 p.m. at Christy Mathewson Field in La Plume.  The Mighty Macs need a sweep of the twin bill to unseat the conference-leading Giants from the top seed in the playoffs.
