NCAA Regionals: No. 6 Panthers Open with 14-6 Win

SAUGET, Ill. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball used a big seventh inning to secure the 14-6 win over Greenville College in game one of the NCAA Sauget Regional Thursday afternoon.  BSC improved to 37-8 with the win and advances to the next round.  They will play at 3:30 p.m.

 

Four Panthers had multi-hit days, led by Tyler Wise (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS).  He went 3-for-3 with three runs and five RBI.  Rich Misischia (Dothan, Ala./Regis HS), Sam Roberts (Johns Creek, Ga./Blessed Trinity), and Jacob Drescher (Auburn, Ala./Auburn HS) had two hits.  Wise and Drescher each hit home runs in the win.

 

Ryan Gaines (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody HS) earned the win after going seven innings and striking out a game-high 10 batters.  He is now 11-0 on the year.
