More news about: Birmingham-Southern

SAUGET, Ill. – A late game rally helped propel the No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball team to its 6-4 second round win at the Sauget Regional of the NCAA Tournament over Webster University.  BSC (38-8) will now face the winner of North Central College and Wartburg College in the regional semifinal on Saturday.

David Scott (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy), Sam Roberts (Johns Creek, Ga./Blessed Trinity), and Will Toner (Atlanta, Ga./Marist HS) each had two hits on the day.  Roberts' homer in the second inning put the Panthers on the board.  But it was a solo shot over the right field fence from Tyler Wise (Birmingham, Ala./Spain Park HS) that gave BSC the win in the eighth inning.

Easton Fuller (Fairhope, Ala./Alexandria HS) earned the win after coming in in the fifth inning.  He is 4-1 on the year.  Rich Misischia (Dothan, Ala./Regis HS) and Preston White (Memphis, Tenn./Memphis University School) pitched the final two innings to close out the win.
