AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Quenton Brownlee lifted a sacrifice fly into right field allowing Blake Benz to tag and race home as the Golden Eagles topped Ramapo, 6-5, in walk-off fashion Wednesday at the RussMatt Invitational in Auburndale, Fla.

HIGHLIGHTS

Following the single, Coach Downs pinch ran the speedy freshman Blake Benz for Kelly. Joe Hatcher followed with a single up the middle sending Benz to third and Quenton Brownlee sent a ball into right field allowing Benz to race home for game winning run.

STAT LEADERS

  • Clay Kelly went 2-for-5 including the game tying RBI.
  • Kyle Stevens finished the game 2-for-4 with a triple, one RBI and a run scored.
  • In his first start as a Golden Eagle, Eric Meyer went 1-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored.
  • Dillon Sievert reached base four times, going 1-for-1 with one RBI and reached three times on balls.
  • Reliever Peyton Hood (1-0) came in to earn the win allowing one run, on two hits, while striking out one batter in 1.1 innings pitched.

  • Vincenzo Sita led Roadrunner hitters going 3-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored.
  • Kevin Foulds (0-2) took the loss giving up two runs, one earned, on two hits, in two-thirds of an inning pitched.
