More news about: St. Thomas-Minn

Joe Silva homered and scored three runs as No. 7-ranked Concordia-Chicago slapped 13 hits and never trailed in Saturday's 7-1 win over St. Thomas in a nine-inning non-conference game played in Waverly, Iowa.

CUC (8-2) used three pitchers, and that trio stranded nine St. Thomas baserunners and combined on a seven hitter, with no extra-base hits allowed.

Jimmy Dolan went 3-for-4 to lead the offense for Tommies (0-4). The lone UST run came on a two-out bases-loaded walk to Logan Kohorst in the sixth inning.

Starter Ryan Zimmerman allowed four runs in five innings. He struck out seven and walked two. Freshman Graham Laubscher allowed three runs in 3.1 innings.

On Sunday, St. Thomas faces Concordia at noon, and plays Wartburg at 3 p.m. in a pair of nine-inning games.
