Standen Caps Huge Weekend With Six RBIs In Scranton's Victory

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Senior right fielder Chase Standen (Newtown Square, Pa./St. Joseph's Prep) had four hits, six RBIs and four runs scored to lead The University of Scranton baseball team to a 17-4 rout on Sunday in the final game of a Landmark Conference series at Juniata.

Standen blasted a three-run homer in the first inning – his third homer in as many games – and had a two-run single in the fourth and an RBI single in the fifth. He finished the three-game series going 7-for-13 with a double, three home runs, 13 RBIs and seven run scored as the Royals (6-5, 2-1 Landmark) took two of three from Juniata (2-8, 1-2 Landmark).

Scranton scored three in the top of the first before Juniata got one back in the bottom of the half. The Royals then blew the game open with a run in third, six in the fourth and three more in the fifth. They also added one in the eighth and three in the ninth.

Junior first baseman Ian McIntosh (Newtown, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) had a double, two singles, drove in two and scored a run. Senior center fielder Tommy Trotter (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) singled twice, drove in two and scored a run, and senior shortstop Justin Howell (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) singled twice, scored three runs and stole a base.

Junior righty Pat Rohr (Audubon, Pa./Devon Prep) picked up the win with six strong innings on the hill. He allowed two runs, one earned, on six hits while walking two and striking out three.
