La PLUME, Pa.—Junior Dakota McFadden is turning into a double threat for the Keystone College baseball team, much to the chagrin of Giant opponents.

In today's 9-1 victory over Drew University at Christy Mathewson Field, McFadden pitched seven innings, struck out four and did not allow a run as the Giants won their ninth straight game to improve to 12-5 on the season.  He also smashed a two-run home run down the left field line in the first inning as Keystone jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back

McFadden was, however, far from the only hero for Keystone today.  Senior Bray Curreri had three hits, including a solo home run in the fifth inning and two doubles, and junior Mohammed Hussein finished with three hits and scored three times.  Overall, the Giants belted out 12 hits, including two by sophomore Adam Kelly

Defensively, Keystone turned two double plays, the first coming in the top of the first when Drew opened the game with singles by junior Zach Lipshitz and sophomore Max Felsenstein.  McFadden then got a critical strikeout, and after walking the next batter, the Giants turned a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning.  After the first inning, McFadden allowed just two more hits the rest of the way.

The Giants took advantage of two errors by the Rangers in the second inning to score five runs, three unearned.  Sophomore Ryan Callahan drove in a run with a single after Kelly doubled to open the frame.

Drew, now 11-5, received two hits apiece from Lipshitz and Felsenstein.  In the ninth inning, the Rangers pushed a run across the plate and had an opportunity to add even more, but Kelly made an over-the-shoulder catch on the warning track on a ball hit by junior Eric DiPietro with runners on first and second with one out.

The Giants will return to action this Monday, April 2, against Rutgers Camden at Christy Mathewson Field in La Plume beginning at 3:30 p.m.
