Game Review
The Owls snapped a 1-1 tie with a four-run top of the fifth inning that featured two-run singles by both Lippincott and Dunn.

Western New England answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning, however, to cut its deficit to 5-4. Schofield got the rally started with a leadoff walk, but the next two batters were retired. Junior Joe Cassella (Wallingford, Conn.) kept the inning alive with a single to right field, and a passed ball put two runners in scoring position. Senior Jared Rosenblatt (Avon, Conn.) came up next and produced an RBI single to left field, and LaCroix followed with a two-run double to right.

The Golden Bears then pulled ahead (6-5) the following inning, when Schofield sent a two-run homer over the right field fence.

Western New England tacked on three insurance runs in the eighth, as Nussbaum hit a solo shot, Loparco recorded an RBI double, and junior Erik Lacaire (Worcester, Mass.) capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly.

Junior left-hander Bob Hamel (Southwick, Mass.) came on for the ninth inning and closed the door on the Owls with a 1-2-3 frame.
