ANNVILLE, Pa. - The Hood College baseball team used a four-run sixth inning to break the game open en route to a 13-4 victory at Lebanon Valley in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth action. 

The win improved the Blazers to 24-5 on the year and 8-5 in the MAC Commonwealth. 

Inside the Box Score

• Nathan Kessler stole three bases to tie the school record for steals in a game. Overall, Hood swiped 10 bags in the game with Cam Esposito and Daniel Shepherd stealing two apiece. 
• Esposito went 4 for 6 with a double, three RBIs and two stolen bases to lead the offense. 
• Ryan Atkinson pitched five strong innings for the win. The senior allowed one run, pitching around three walks and four hits. He struck out one. 
• Jordan Patterson doubled and walked twice. 
• Jahlin Jean-Baptiste and Jake Franke each threw two innings of relief. 

How it Happened

• Patterson had an RBI double in the second and scored on Esposito's two-run single to make it 3-0. 
• TJ Holdredge got the Dutchmen onto the scoreboard in the fourth with an RBI single, trimming the Blazer lead to two. 
• An error in the sixth opened the door for Hood's four runs. Dylan Beck reached on an error to start the inning and moved to second on a balk. Joe Kroeger knocked him in with a single for a 4-1 edge. Kroeger scored on a single by Kessler and Kessler came home on an infield single by Drake Friend. Lebanon Valley made a throwing error on the play that allowed Eric Turner to score for a 7-1 lead. 
• Josh Herring's single in the bottom of the sixth made it 7-2, driving in Josh Marcelli. The damage may have been worse, but Shepherd made a diving play on a grounder by John Harned with the bases loaded to end the inning. 
• The teams traded single runs in the seventh before the Blazers added five combined runs in the eighth and ninth. In the eighth, Shepherd and Esposito executed a first-and-third double steal to make it 9-3 and Shepherd later scored on a groundout by Turner. 
• Brooks Warrenfeltz had a pinch-hit, RBI triple in the ninth and scored on a double by Esposito. Esposito scored the Blazers' final run on a fielder's choice by Josh Gall. 
• LVC scored once in the bottom of the ninth before Franke closed the door. 

Notes

• Trevor Bertsch, Marty Kiessling and Herring had two hits each for the Dutchmen. 
• Kyle Kingsbury took the loss. He allowed six runs, three earned, in 5.2 innings. 
• Lebanon Valley dropped to 9-14 overall and 5-8 in the conference.
